How do I describe my alterations?
Any changes that were made to the gown should be stated in your description; such as hemming the length, taking it in/out, adding breast cups/pads, adding a bustle etc.
Our listings include both tag and street size information. This is so the listing best reflects how the dress will actually fit if the seller has made alterations.
It's also why we've included specific measurements as well; the exact measurements are really the best way to get a comparable idea of how the dress would fit a new bride and what alterations she may need if she purchased your dress.
- Include your measurements on the listing (bust, waist, hips, height).
- Tallest wearable height = your height plus the shoes you wore.
- Call the store that did your alterations and see if they have notes on what was taken in and by how much
- If #2 does not work, note basic things like "the dress is a size 10 but modified closer to an 8 because my bust/hips only fit the size up, they had to shorten the hem because I am 5'2 and I wore flats/3 inch heels etc for my wedding"
