What pictures should my listing have?
You must own or have permission to use all pictures on your listing as designer images or pictures found online are NOT permitted on Nearly Newlywed.
We recommend:
- Quantity
3 to 6 pictures total for your listing. - Quality
Clear, high-resolution COLOR images between 2-3MB and show off all the details that make the dress special. If the file size is too small, the pictures will show up blurry on your listing, and we will not be able to share them on social media.
Original photos (not screenshots) of you wearing the dress are best since it shows the full silhouette of the dress. Make sure to include ones showing the entire front and one of the entire back of the dress. - Current Condition
Include pictures of the dress in its current condition as well. These can be on a hanger or laying on your bed. Please visit our dress photography guide here: https://www.nearlynewlywed.com/pages/photography-guide.
Forward any pictures you would like added to us at support@nearlynewlywed.com and we will update your listing. We can cover faces for privacy; just let us know!
Brand New & Never Worn?
In situations like this, we recommend recruiting the help of a friend or family member if possible; either to take pictures of you wearing the dress currently or of them in it.
Brides love to see the dress on someone to envision themselves in it and this is also the best way to show off the features and silhouette of the dress. If the dress no longer fits, is something you're not comfortable putting on, or having a friend help out will not be possible, then images of the dress on a hanger with a clear background OR laid out on a freshly made bed are your next best option.
At a minimum, it's best to include a full-length shot to show off the silhouette, close-ups for details and flaws, and a clear photo of any distinguishing features and embellishments. Make sure to use as much white/natural lighting as possible to avoid the dress looking yellow in your pictures.
Make sure to wash your hands and not add hand lotion before handling the dress as body oils and lotions are what can stain and damage the material over time. Visit our Dress Photography Guide for more information on how to get the best pictures.
