What is the difference between street size and label size?

A wedding dress can be described in 2 sizes - the dress label size and the brides' typical size, also known as "street' size.

Because wedding dress label sizing varies so greatly, all dresses listed on Nearly Newlywed are the seller's street size. We encourage all brides to search for 1 or 2 sizes above or below their street size since many wedding gowns can be altered to fit within this range.
